Holy Terrors, pt.II

After getting a Vegas flecktarn camouflage jacket, and needing something to occupy the back, I decided to do a 2 color screen-print. The resulting design is made up of an etching by Martin Schongauer and a few personal touches based on the Holy Terror record label and logos.

Lozenge Magazine

Hello everyone,

With the release of Issues No.1 & No.2 quickly approaching, we are in need of support through advertisers, promoters, and hype. Donations to cover printing costs are gladly accepted and anyone who does donate more than $15 will get both issues and a Lozenge shirt when they are printed! (Shirts will be printed by Apothem Prints using black plastisol ink - so don't worry, the design won't wash out!)

All Fun And Games.

This is a design that will more than likely be printed on white or natural cotton shirts or crew neck sweatshirts.

Had some fun messing around with and incorporating elements from several photos to create the image.

If anyone is interested in this design, let me know and I can get a few printed - with plastisol inks of course!

Burn The Lies

Inspired by a Hatebreed song and rehashed to fit the way I would want to say the same thing.

I don't think this will ever turn into anything, I was just messing around in my free time before class.

Worlds Apart

It's time for another Lozenge sneak-peek:

With many more submissions and artists from around the country, we are getting close to printing time and can't be more excited!

Once we are finished, have some advertisers, and send everything to the printers, we will be having a Lozenge Issue No.1 Release Party! So keep in touch for more details once we work them out.

Here are the pages for Cincinnati, Ohio artist, Brian Uhl.

Edit: Took down spread #2.

Aftermath

After a short, but amazing trip to Baltimore, I have a design that may turn into a limited run of shirts. In the near future, it will be printed onto the back of a really nice green jacket I got at the Cult shop on North Charles.

The design is fairly large, being about 8"x13", so it would be perfect for the front of a shirt or the back of a jacket. Two colors, as seen, black ink and white ink.

With the recent acquisition of a flash dryer for Christmas, I can, and will, be printing a lot more shirts, jackets, and anything else you may want something printed on!

It is comprised of a few things that caught my eye and now have a lot of meaning.

For those of you that are fans of desktop backgrounds and may like this:

And to conclude this post, for those of you that have seen the Lozenge Magazine "call for entries" posters around DAAP and on Facebook, here is a sneak peek of what's to come in a few weeks!

This layout/design is not final, but it is currently the way things will look in the first issue!

Get pumped for 2011...it's going to be a good year!

The calls of Cthulu are upon my printing studio...

"Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn"

With Blitzkid's new album set to drop in the next month, they are in need of a tour poster, and I have been called upon to screen print 30. They are going to be 3 color, 11"x17" prints on white illustration paper.

Pick one up at one of the Blitzkid shows in February. They will go fast, so jump on it!

Here is what Goolsby initially sent me to work with:

Here is the redesign I did, but it is not officially the final design, still waiting to hear back:

Keeping Up

I keep working on, redefining, and finishing designs as I go along, not knowing if something will ever be printed, but that's what helps refresh my design palette. I am trying to pull myself away from static type and designs, so expect to see more weird and more playful designs as I go along with my daily life.

Holy Terrors

Just finished a design I will be printing this weekend in order to sell at the Integrity/Haymaker/Drop Dead show.  Who doesn't love a plague doctor set on spreading the disease to innocent church-goers?

Prints will be 10"x16" on 11"x17" thick illustration paper.  Black ink with Glow in the Dark ink inverted crosses in the background.

Edition of 48.  Hand numbered and signed.

Working Out

I have been messing around with designs lately and feeling around for something good.  This is some stuff I have come up with:

(Opinions welcomed)

Bonnie and Clyde.  Still working on this one.  8"x10", 4 color.

Lochness inspired.  6"x6", 3 color screenprint.

A WWI influenced design.  6"x6" screenprint.

Obviously the watermarks will not be included in the final prints.
